Alexander D. Paul's work includes Hulu’s Emmy nominated true crime series “Mastermind,” Masterclass’s James Beard Award-winning “G.O.A.T,” and Netflix’s “Street Food: Asia,” which earned him a James Beard Award nomination for Visual Excellence.
Alexander has recently filmed his first narrative feature,“Esperanza,” with director Abigail Fuller (Chef’s Table) and executive producer Mark Johnson (Breaking Bad).
Born and raised in Niantic, Connecticut, Alexander spent most of his time at the local art house movie theater. It was there that his love for cinema began. Alexander studied film at Emerson College before moving to Los Angeles in 2008.
He honed his craft assisting for DP’s like Walt Fraser (Raising Hope), Michael Goi, ASC (American Horror Story) and Will Basanta (Chef’s Table). In 2018 the producers of “Chef’s Table” gave Alexander the opportunity to DP their new series “Street Food”.
Alexander’s work can be seen across multiple platforms including Netflix, Hulu, AppleTV+, HBOMax, and Paramount+. Known for his keen eye, calm demeanor, and strong work ethic, Alexander brings energy and passion to every project he takes on.
